Sun Protection
Our Sun Protection Policy operates year round to minimise the incidence of skin damage through long term effects of the sun. Children and staff are required to wear hats at all times when outside. Parents are asked to provide a board brimmed hat protecting face, neck and ears. The Centre provides 30+ sunscreen and this is applied 15 minutes before going outside mornings and afternoons. Time in the sun will be minimised between 10am to 2 pm (11 am to 3pm in daylights savings) and if the weather is hot, the time outdoors will be reduced further. Outdoor shade over the sandpit, veranda and soft fall area provides additional protection for staff and children.
